-
Context: Design a digital-first mine operations model across the value chain (mine to customer) to maximize the amount of work performed offsite for a greenfield underground North American mine.
What it was: Worked with project leadership through critical use cases, remote and autonomous enabled operations flow. We identified and aligned on implications for onsite-offsite collaboration model, role design, and talent / hiring / training needs. The associated headcount model served as direct input to the final feasibility study.
Outcomes: Remote-first operations; efficiency + safety gains; implementation readiness. Presently under construction.
-
Context: Merger integration of two North American laboratory companies into a single entity with national reach.
What it was: Worked with client leads to stand up Integrated Management office (IMO) structure using established tools. Co-led IMO alongside client partner, coaching functional leaders to drive integration and synergy plans. Established and coached leadership team through governance and Board updates.
Outcomes: Timeline & synergy targets met; client team upskilled for subsequent merger.
-
Context: Establishment of a complex multi-stakeholder infrastructure joint venture (JV) for a greenfield mining operation in West Africa.
What it was: The 2+ year program involved negotiation and business setup strategy, operations planning, organization and process design.
Outcomes: Senior Leadership Team onboarded and aligned to joint priorities; next level leadership engaged in planning, complex JV operationalized within target launch timelines.
-
Context: Equipment Dealer with overlapping functions and roles as a result of multiple recent acquisitions, needed to simplify operating model.
What it was: Design and implementation of a customer-first operating model, required major business process improvements, financial business case, and implementation of the roadmap.
Outcomes: Executive Leadership Team ownership of agreed changes, middle managers equipped to lead Phase 2 of implementation, 10% accelerated to bottom line by end of Year 1.
-
Context: Underground mine in Western Europe with aspiration to implement Short Interval Control (SIC) management to stem operational value leaks.
What it was: Design and implementation of a two-phased approach to enable eventual adoption of digital solution. Initial work co-developed new Management Operating System (MOS) to develop cultural habits to enable successful SIC implementation. Modular business case and roadmap to enable implementation and adoption of SIC at the right pace, taking into account technical and workforce requirements for sustained success.
Outcomes: MOS changes enabled immediate availability benefits, providing client with the ability to fund longer term changes.
-
Context: To optimize regional mobility for citizens, facilitation of strategy and business case for integrating 10+ North American municipal transit operators into a single entity.
What it was: Stakeholder alignment across the municipalities, establishment of governance structure, facilitation of client teams to develop strategy, business and operational models, assess financial viability, and establish target funding model. Acting as a neutral thought partner to assess all potential scenarios and associated benefits. Scenarios included minimum participation levels for viability.
Outcomes: With the available scenarios, each entity was ultimately equipped to determine its own participation.
